Students enjoyed working with paralympian silver medalist, Mel Clarke recently and had the opportunity to try Mel’s sport of archery. Students looked at improving teamwork and social skills and are planning to deliver short sessions to primary students based on the skills learned during the day.
Five students were selected as winners of the ‘Writing to the Queen’ competition to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday. They were invited to The Guild Hall to meet with the Mayor of Lichfield and then onto speakers’ corner to read out their fantastic work in front of the public and were presented with a medal and commemorative coin. There were many comments on the excellent quality and impressive number of entries from Nether Stowe!
On Wednesday evening we held the final of our 2nd, annual Nether Stowe Young Musician of the Year competition.
12 finalists from KS3, KS4 and KS5 treated us to a wonderful recital of music from many genres. Vocals, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Piano, Drums and Guitar were represented. It was truly an evening of our very best musicians from every year.
